Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex and his wife, Princess Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, visited the Hyatt Regency Trinidad in Port of Spain
February 29, 2012

During a recent official royal visit to Trinidad and Tobago, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex and his wife, Princess Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, visited the Hyatt Regency Trinidad in Port of Spain.  Here, they met Mr. Russell George, general manager of the hotel, on arrival to a dinner hosted by the royal couple and sponsored by the British High Commission. With the royal yacht moored adjacent to the Hyatt in the Gulf of Paria at the Port of Port of Spain, the Earl and Countess of Wessex spent two days on the islands to mark the occasion of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, signifying 60 years of the Queen's reign. The visit culminated with a dinner in the Jade Room of the Hyatt Regency Trinidad hotel on February 29, 2012. Guests included members of the local business community such as BP Trinidad and Tobago, BG Group Trinidad and Tobago and Atlantic LNG, among others.  The hotel's executive chef created a customized dinner menu which was approved by the Royal Family.
